I’m a father, combat veteran, general surgeon, breast surgeon, and writer. I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with B.S. degrees in biology and bacteriology and earned my M.D. at the Uniformed Services University in Bethesda, Maryland. I completed my residency in general surgery at Walter Reed Army Medical Center and fellowship in benign and malignant breast disease at Women and Infants Hospital of Rhode Island / Brown University.
