Hi! Follow up question. Does 100 degrees kill any possible bacteria?

Can you mix the formula first and then heat it?

Hi Kristen- We recommend mixing with warm water to ensure it dissolves quickly, easily, and with as little foam as possible (although foam is totally safe for baby and normal!), but ultimately, you can use whatever temperature water baby prefers. If you do heat the water before, just be sure that it cools before feeding to ensure baby's safety.

I saw an answer to another question where ByHeart said 100° is recommended because it makes the mixing easier. My daughter will drink cold formula no problem, bit it's usually room temp when we mix it. It does get really foamy but I haven't found that heating the water first helps.

Thanks, Shaya! The foam is totally normal (and safe) for baby. Glad that she is enjoying ByHeart.
