Hi Mauri! Great question, and ultimately, one we’d actually recommend consulting with your pediatrician to get the best answer for you (and baby!). We add prebiotics to our formula because a healthy microbiome is best for baby, and prebiotics are an important food source for gut bacteria (the microbiome). We did not include probiotics because, to be totally honest, we were not convinced that they would be beneficial in infant formula, as the science that supports the probiotics available for use in infant formula is still being discovered. Ultimately, we used the ingredients that we were confident would provide the best possible results for baby!
